Acclaimed Venezuelan pianist, composer, and arranger Edward Simon has built his career around a distinct repertoire of original compositions and imaginative, jazz-informed instrumental arrangements of pieces from the Great Latin American Songbook.

His brilliant new album Femeninas: Songs of Latin American Women is out May 31, 2023 via ArtistShare. Joining Simon are his trio with Adam Cruz on drums and Reuben Rogers on bass, and special guests Mexican vocalist Magos Herrera, Venezuelan percussionist Luis Quintero, and Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo. The album features songs by both established and emerging songwriters such as Violeta Parra(Chile), Marta Valdés (Cuba), Chabuca Granda (Perú), Elizabeth Morris (Chile), Rosa Passos (Brazil), Georgina Hassan (Argentina), and Joyce Moreno (Brazil).
