Out Dec. 5th, 2005, from Capri Records comes a new Keith Oxman album, Home, featuring 13 introspective, celebratory tracks with guitarist Clint Dadian, trumpeter Derek Banach, bassist Bill McCrossen, and drummer Todd Reid.
Acclaimed Colorado-based tenor saxophonist Keith Oxman takes listeners on a musical journey through his influences and inspirations on his gorgeous new album Home. Joining him as he nods to family members, friends, colleagues, and mentors who helped steer his musical and life path are guitarist Clint Dadian, trumpeter Derek Banach, bassist Bill McCrossen, and drummer Todd Reid. The album will be released December 5, 2025 on Capri Records.
Oxman has always counted himself lucky to have a nurturing home life, a wonderful family, and friends who encouraged him to follow his heart. “When it comes to the people in my life, I’ve been truly blessed,” says Oxman. “I just felt like it was time to say thank you in music.” On Home, he honours those relationships with eleven original compositions and two covers: “Serenata,” which Oxman first heard on Cannonball Adderley’s Cannonball Takes Charge, and the classic “Home (When Shadows Fall),” suggested by longtime collaborator Todd Reid as the title track for the record.
Home begins with the jaunty “True Lou,” a piece written for Oxman’s dad who passed away in 2023 at the ripe young age of 101. The smooth “Hardenesque” and joyful “Serenada” follow. “Don’t Throw in the Powell” is pure jazz joy with a great guitar solo by Dadian and top-notch horn work by Oxman and Banach. On the wistful title track, Oxman brings out his softer side with pure tone and exquisite expression. “Pam” and “Cousin Steve” pay homage to Oxman’s beloved family members with style and verve, as do the remaining tracks paying tribute to fellow professors, mentors, and others, including the upbeat “Stray Killer,” the rocking “The Jazz Brothers Visit Curtis Street,” “Owen’s Defense,” and “Opus for Wherda.” The recording closes with the lovely “An Extraordinary Rose” written for Oxman’s mother, who passed away in 2016.
“Home is a very personal album filled with joyful jaunts, sweet ballads, a blues, and a bossa,” says Capri Records founder Tom Burns. “Oxman’s homage to those who’ve made a lasting impression on his life makes for a winning album that promises something for everyone.”

Keith Oxman’s burnished tenor sound is born of a love of classic players like Sonny Stitt and Charles McPherson, with both of whom he’s played, along with greats like Art Blakey, Buddy Rich, Jack McDuff, Phil Woods and Dave Brubeck. Having learned directly from these masters, Oxman passes that torch along to his students at Denver’s East High School. He’s collaborated with the likes of Curtis Fuller, David Liebman and Houston Person and his iconic Denver band the Jazz Worms.
