Out now – Paul Shapiro’s new single, “Project 26”

Posted On 27th July 2025 By grzech In All That Jazz /

We love Last Minute Calls! Especially the great ones, like that below, that reminds me of my juvenile days and How & Why I fell in love with Jazz and carry that affair with me forever. Extra confusing for the English-based audience that never came across an American incarnation may be the fact that in the same 80s decade, another Foreign Legion band had been formed on the Welsh soil 😉 Go figure it out, it may have been a popular resemblance in the Punk culture , back there…

This call-to-action single, “Project 26,” is just in from Paul Shapiro and features his 80s punk-funk band Foreign Legion with original bandmates Steven Bernstein, William Brown, and Thomas Doncker, along with longtime collaborators Cilla Owens, Tony Lewis, and Gary Foote.

Here’s what Paul says about the single:

” Things have gotten really bleak and we need to work together to get this country back on track. Our first chance are the midterms in 2026. I’m hoping this song helps people get busy. The sound I was hearing for this brought me back to my ‘80s punk funk band Foreign Legion. I called original bandmates Steven Bernstein, William Brown and Tomas Doncker, along with longtime collaborators Cilla Owens, Tony Lewis and Gary Foote. Time for a new raw and real Foreign Legion track, PROJECT 26. We recorded it live at Grammy-winning producer Bassy Bob Brockmann’s studio in Brooklyn. John Rynski, long-time New York creative, designed the cover.”

Steven Bernstein’s post about Foreign Legion says it better than me:

” It was a great band… very of its time, Grimy off kilter east village punk funk inspired by the sounds and culture all around us… we played CBGBs, Danceteria, A7, Pyramid Club and many places that are too hazy to recall.. With the addition of Tomas Doncker, Zachary Alford and Jerome Smith in the mid 80s the band definitely moved to the funk side of the punk.. and many more great musicians came through… anyway… Paul wrote a new Foreign Legion anthem in response to the current state of affairs..and he “got the band back together”… I hope you enjoy this as much as we all did…..maybe we can get the 1:30 am spot at A7 again! ”

I will put it on more blunt, shall I say, as due to global right-wing – NAZI-FRONT take over, (including ongoing #trumPUSSY‘s projct2025, aka How To Fleece America Alive) thanks to the media international CON, is on its grow – WE ALL HAVE TO UNITE AND GET THE GRIP!; Or we wake up in the Neo-Feudal Utopia that is and always have been all blood suckers over the history pages – BIGGEST WET DREAM!.

MAKE THEM PEE, but from the FEAR of the REVOLUTION, not from the mass-exploiting exitement. Howgh! Other than that, enjoy your weekends all of you worldwide, hence you still have them, but don’t take it for grants.
