Delia is released today on Punkt Editions. The cover of the Harry Belafonte track is the first single to be released from Jan Bang‘s forthcoming album, Reading The Air, his first vocal-based solo album since 1998 and features the upcoming talent Benedikte Kløw Askedalen on vocals with Jan.
The original version of Delia, written by Fred Brooks and Lester Judson featured on Belafonte‘s 1954 album “Mark Twain And Other Folk Favourites“. The song tells a story of loss and departure, and in Jan Bang’s arrangement, becomes a slow, powerful torch song both celebrating and mourning love.
