The Owl Trio is Will Vinson, Orlando le Fleming and Lage Lund. A highly respected and long-working trio featuring two tracks with the inimitable Kurt Elling Now for the first time this record is available digitally, in high quality audio formats streaming everywhere.
The listener can hear in this intimate album the same ambience and intellectual curiosity that appealed to Kurt in the small Brooklyn club where he first heard the OWL Trio’s Orlando Le Fleming, Will Vinson, and Lage Lund. In this drum-less and pristine supportive context, Kurt, by his own admission has “nowhere to hide.” In this music, a “whisper will carry instead of a shout” and Kurt doesn’t need to blazingly proclaim his intentions – he can simply let them glow.
Recorded by Marc Urselli at the esteemed EastSide Sound studio in New York City, The Life of the Party has been produced to the exceptional audio standard for which Newvelle Records is renown. Life of the Party was previously released exclusively on vinyl as part of a Newvelle Records limited-edition Season Five box set.
