In the wake of their acclaimed comeback album Figures (2020), Aksak Maboul took a playful sideways step to create this total work, a 63-minute, conti- nuous suite of fifteen pieces, which could be described as an experimental audio play.The thread running through Une aventure de VV (Songspiel) is Véronique Vincent’s text, an enigmatic philosophical-poetical tale unfolding through monologues and dialogues, spoken and sung by a series of characters. The music was written & arranged by Marc Hollander and features his characteristic genre-hopping tendencies: strands of electronica, pop, jazz, collage, techno, ambient, improv, krautrock, contemporary classical & systems music are merrily woven together, in the inimitable Aksak Maboul style.

Crammed Discs release Redrawn Figures 1 and Redrawn Figures 2 on LP & Digital on the 22nd of October 2021.

Following the release of Aksak Maboul’s acclaimed Figures double album (in mid-2020), fifteen artists have revisited songs from the legendary experimental pop band’s ‘comeback’ opus (mini-biography below).

These diverse, colorful interpretations range from simple remixes to reconstructions and cover versions, or a combination of all of these. They’re now ready to be released on two separate, limited-edition vinyl LPs, as well as on two digital albums.

Crammed Disc comes out with release of the remastered version of Benjamin Lew & Steven Brown‘s album DOUZIÈME JOURNÉE: LE VERBE, LA PARURE, L’AMOUR (1982) on LP / CD / DL, the Volume 15 of the famous and timeless iconic Made TO Measure series of the recordings. Considered one of the key releases in Crammed Discs’ Made To Measure composer series, this album was recorded and first released in 1982 before the labels decision to devote a specific collection to instrumental/ambient/experimental music. The album was incorporated in the MTM series in 1988.
