Here we got another title from ever-growing Punkt Edition series, once created to document the most spectacular live events which took place at the festival stage, to become the benchmark itself.

From the opening grand diptych of “Night Poles River” through its eight tracks, Dai Fujikura and Jan Bang’s The Bow Maker is an album of multidimensional musical movements – not in the conventional compositional sense, but in the sense of actual movement: the music is constantly active, enveloping the listener, surrounding them with evanescent sonic spaces.

The album has taken three years to create, and features contributions from some of Norway’s finest musicians, including three of his idols: Arve Henriksen, Eivind Aarset and Erland Dahlen. “Bre” is composed of ambient experimental music heavily inspired by nature, and takes the listener on an emotional journey. Tortusa paints with sounds, and the music inspires inner visualisation of the story he tells through his weaving and blending of abstract sonic material.

If you ever wondered what would happen if a Krzysztof Komeda score collided with Fugazi, look no further; if you need to know what Chopin writing doom metal might sound like, you might just find the answer you seek. The prog and fusion elements you already know and expect are still here, but with different colours and markings. If “Reflections and Odysseys” was a first expedition into earth orbit, “Spacesailors” goes far beyond. This just might be their “moon landing” album.
