Although this is their fist duo recording, trumpeter Tom Arthurs and electronic musician Sam Britton (AKA Isambard Khroustaliov) have collaborated in a number of different ensembles. Both in and out of the Not Applicable label/collective, over a period of at least ten years.
As well as offering continuities with the past – earlier versions of the Ensemble recorded five well-received albums for the ECM label, from 2001 to 2012 – the performance of the seven original compositions on ‘Kurzsam and Fulger‘ represents a significant refinement of Wallumrod’s methods:
Grammy-nominated guitarist, composer and educator Martin Taylor celebrates his 60th birthday and 45 years as a touring artist with a series of solo UK concerts in October. Kicking off in Fareham on Friday 14th October, Taylor will take to thirteen UK towns across the country including Fareham, London, New Milton, Colchester, Guildford, Whitby, Milton Keynes, Manchester, Dundee, Inverness, Lichfield and Uppingham.
An array of international stars from the worlds of blues, rock and soul will descend on London this month as BluesFest returns to The O2 from October 28th – 30th.
The festival will present three spectacular double-bills featuring blues luminary Walter Trout and UK blues-rock outfit The Temperance Movement, multi-Grammy-winning Mary J Blige and R&B star Maxwell, and UK guitar god Jeff Beck alongside the legendary Van Morrison.
As a huge fan of this wonderful music collective, deeply devoted and endlessly listening to everything they only recorded and I could put my hands on it I have a greatest pleasure to announce their 50th Anniversary Artistic Season ! I wish them hundred years of the best health and never ending creativity !

Finally as it was previously advised on the website Berliner Festspiele realised their Berlin Jazz Fest programme for 2016 edition . It was a long wait with a little leak only so I was all ears. In fact it looks like a bizz and I can see few sets there which are matching some of the best recordings which happened this year. So be prepared for a proper report as always with tasty pictures, anecdotes and unforgettable memories 
Berlin JazzFest 2011 – Jazz from Poland!

The focus of this year edition was jazz from Poland. That’s why it formally started 15 of October with an opening performance of IRCHA ,the latest output from one of the most dynamic polish jazzman – Mikolaj Trzaska and his Clarinet Quartet. It took place at Martin-Gropius-Bau and was related to the opening of the exhibition titled “Side by Side. Poland –Germany. A 1000 Years of Art. And History”. Next to follow ,a week later ,was an ATOM String Quartet. Another interesting project which came from a young artists ,but took audience by storm with his freshness and vitality. Then as usual the main part of the Fest took place from 2 to 6 November and as always supposed to be long awaited by every jazz lover . A special highpoint of this year’s festival was music from Poland, with appearances by trumpeter Tomasz Stańko, pianist Leszek Możdżer, and many other Polish jazz musicians.
Stephan Micus is one of those artists who does not appear on the stage too often. There is a few reasons for that. First of of all that possibly there is just simply a lack of time. As opposed to artists who are recording particular projects and then touring with them, Stephan would rather explore the whole music universe ,putting his output on the tape and then trying to find a way to give the overall concept its final shape.
